How to assemble / Install Hobart EZ-TIG 165i

Step one is to select a location for your EZ-TIG 165i. Use handles to lift and cart to move it. Locate the unit near the correct power supply and position it so that air can circulate. 

Note that special installation may be required where gasoline or volatile liquids are present. Refer to the manual for further instructions. 

Use argon shielding gas for the best performance. Slightly open the cylinder valve so that the gas flow blows dirt off from the valve. Then shut the valve. 

Connect the regulator/flow gauge to your gas cylinder. Make sure you don’t over-tighten. Connect the gas hose to gas in fitting.

Adjust the flow to 20 cubic feet per hour. Connect the green or green/yellow grounding conductor to disconnect the device grounding terminal first.

Then connect input conductors L1 and L2 to disconnect device line terminals. Connect the plug to the receptacle and you’re ready to start welding.

Use the material switch to select DC for any kind of steel and AC for aluminum. Select the material thickness and amperage and then turn the power switch on.

The output is on when the LED is switched on. It will flash in case of overheating. Depress the pedal to start the arc and adjust the amperage to maximum value.
